Since 2001, CCR has been a lifeline for Chicago Dogs in need.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is simple and joyful: to help every dog who comes through our doors find their next family.

Over the years, we’ve proudly helped more than 8,000 dogs begin the next, brightest chapter of their lives — each one a reminder of what’s possible when compassion and community come together.

At CCR, we welcome dogs of all kinds: seniors with wise eyes, playful puppies, dogs who need a little extra support, and those who just haven’t met their person yet. No matter their age, size, or story, every dog who arrives here is treated with the same hope and excitement for what’s ahead.

Once a dog joins the CCR family, we’re with them every step of the way — championing their growth, celebrating their milestones, and helping them get ready for the moment where best friends meet.

We may be one rescue among many in Chicago, but our community is truly extraordinary — and our dogs are one in a million. Together, we’re creating a future filled with wagging tails, open hearts, and lifelong friendships.
