That’s why Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation exists: to give overlooked and vulnerable dogs a real chance at a brighter future. At CCR, we believe in creating a place Where Best Friends Meet.
Founded in 2001, CCR has helped connect thousands of homeless dogs with loving homes. To date, we have proudly saved the lives of more than 8,000 dogs and puppies. The dogs in our care come from open-intake shelters, rural rescue partners with limited resources, and families who can no longer care for them. Our team provides medical treatment, emotional and behavioral support, and thoughtful adoption services to every dog who comes through our doors.
We offer a safe, welcoming landing place for dogs of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds – and we work tirelessly to help them find the people who will welcome them into their homes.
Chicago Canine Rescue is helped by all kinds, not just adopters. Whether it is through fostering, volunteering, or donating; we all work together to make our mission possible.

Please register for a time slot below. Unless previously arranged for a special reason, we do require that you are signed up in order to volunteer – this ensures our staff knows who is coming in to help out and when! In addition to walking dogs, we have a variety of in-shelter jobs you can help with!
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old unless accompanied by an adult.
